12th May: We have decided on a format that will hopefully lead to a more competitive league for this season, with plenty to play for until the very end.
The competing sides are as follows:
Grange Albion
Grange Catholics
St Peters RFC
St Michaels
St Albans
Rumney RFC
Pill Harriers
Splott Cons
The format is as follows:
1. All 8 teams will play in the premier division, and will play each other once.
2. After everyone has played each other once, there will be a league “split”.
3. The top 4 teams in the league will again play each other once, with the prize being the DEWAR SHIELD.
4. The bottom 4 sides will play each other once, with the prize being the FIRST DIVISION SHIELD.
5. The bottom 4 sides will also play a separate cup competition for the SILVER BOWL.
The Ted Peterson Cup and the Bill Barrett Cup will be contested by all 8 Sides.
The Silver Bowl will be contested by the bottom 4 sides only.
This will ensure that ALL sides will have something to play for and will ensure a much more competitive league from start to finish.
